Obituary of Vera L. Luby

Latham- Vera L. Luby of Latham, and beloved wife of the late William J. Luby, passed away peacefully on Sunday July 12, 2015 at the Eddy Heritage House in Troy. Born December 8, 1919 in Troy, She was the daughter of the late Henry and Lois (Lambert) Lee. Vera was married to William J. Luby in 1943 and the two shared a devoted union of 70 years prior to his passing in 2014. Vera was an Operator with NY Telephone in Albany for 10 years. Later, she worked at both Boston Store and JC Penny's. She loved antiques, and was a renowned antique dealer in the Capital District and in York Maine, where she loved the ocean and was also the owner and operator of "The Browserie." She is survived by her loving son: Keith G. (Cheryl) Luby of Florida.Vera also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Jamie Rowe, Melissa Franklin and Kristin Friedrich as well as seven adored great grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Friday July 17, 2105 from 4:00- 6:00 pm at the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Rd., Latham Vera's Funeral Service will be celebrated on Saturday morning, July 18 at 10:00 am at the funeral home, with Fr. Geoffrey Burke officiating.
