BERTHA A. HOGAN Latham- Bertha A. Hogan, 93, of Latham, beloved wife of the late Joseph J. Hogan, passed away peacefully on Wednesday December 20, 2017 at the Eddy Heritage House in Troy. Born September 26, 1924 in Troy, Bertha was the daughter of the late Frank and Katherine (Hart) Ostwald. Bertha was married to Joseph J. Hogan on May 14, 1950 and cherished 58 years of marriage prior to Joe's passing on March 31, 2008. Bertha was employed with the New York State Department of Labor as a Clerk for many years. She is survived by her loving children J. Brian (Mary) Hogan of Latham, Dennis J. (Kathleen) Hogan of Annandale, VA, Sharon (Peter) Fletcher of Waterford and Mary Beth (John) Hardy of Latham. Her 7 cherished grandchildren Kevin (Rebecca) Hogan, Caitlin (Eli) Giovanetti, Hillary, Holly, David Fletcher, Christina (Jesse) Bisceglia and Karen (Ryan) Jennings. 6 great-grandchildren Connor, Kate, Quinn, Sam, Nicholas and Mason. Bertha was predeceased by her siblings Katherine Petruska, Dorthea Dorfner, Gertrude Debboli, John, Frank, George, Carl, Joseph, Leo, Lawrence and Gerard Ostwald. Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Tuesday December 26, 2017 from 4-7 p.m. at the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Road, Latham. Bertha's Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday December 27, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 498 Watervliet Shaker Road, Latham with Fr. Geoffrey Burke officiating.
