Obituary of Frederick J. Kirch Jr.

FREDERICK J. KIRCH JR. Latham –Frederick J. Kirch, Jr., 61, of Latham passed away Wednesday, June 7, 2017, at Hospice Inn at St. Peter's Hospital after a 16 month battle with esophageal cancer. Born in Troy, N.Y., he was the son of Cmdr. Frederick J. Kirch, Sr., SC, USN retired and Annette Adams Kirch of Latham. He was formerly employed by Kaiser Body Shop, Inc. as a truck driver. Fred appreciated the gifts and kindness extended to him during his illness by the Kaiser family. Fred was an avid Harley Davidson rider owning a 56 Panhead , Fred spent countless hours with his Harley pal, Joseph Sibinich, reassembling and riding his bike. They attended various events together and shared in the joy of winning many awards. Survivors in addition to his parents include his sister, Kathleen M. Kirch, of Latham, brother, Brian M. (Anne) Kirch, niece, Emily Kirch, nephew, Matthew Kirch all of Castleton on Hudson. His daughter, Sarah L. (Walter) Bell and grandchildren Skyler and Madison Bell of Rensselaer as well as his extended family which includes uncles, aunts and cousins. Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Monday June 12, 2017 from 4:00-6:00 pm at the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home 149 Old Loudon Rd. Funeral Services for Fred will be celebrated at 6:00 pm immediately following the visitation at the funeral home with Fr. Geoffrey Burke officiating.
