WILLARD A. GOODWIN

Loudonville- Willard A. "Bill" Goodwin, 86 of Loudonville, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 3 at Community Hospice at Memorial Hospital in Albany.

Born in Milford, Mass. on January 27, 1924, he was the son of the late Renold and Eunice (Turner) Goodwin. Bill graduated from Hopedale HS in Hopedale, Mass and then attended the Rhode Island school of Design and Brown University. He also served in the US Navy. Bill married the former Joanne Sternberg on July 16, 1987 and the two shared a blessed union of love and devotion for over 23 years.

He was employed with Albany International in Menands as the Vice President of the Felt Division, retiring in 1983 after 23 years of service. Bill was a member of the Thundervolts radio control club and was builder of radio control airplanes and model boats. He was also an avid woodworker.

Survivors in addition to his beloved wife include his 3 loving sons: Philip C. Goodwin of Bristol, ME, Russell M. Goodwin of Mechanicsville, VA, & Stuart H. Goodwin of Cumberland, ME. 2 cherished grandsons: Stephen and Russell Goodwin as well as his great grandchildren: Zoe, Ruth and Jacob Thomas and 2 nieces and 1 nephew.

Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Friday from 12-1 pm at the Niskayuna Reformed Church, 3041 Troy Schenectady Road, Niskayuna

A Celebration of Bill's Life will be held at the church immediately following the visitation at 1:00 pm. Pastor Scott DeBlock will officiate

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Building Fund of Niskayuna Reformed Church

Interment will take place in Albany Rural Cemetery, Menands.
