-Henrietta A.Chesley, of Latham, beloved wife of the late Stephen W. Chesley, entered into eternal life on Wednesday, June 9, 2010 at Albany Memorial Hospital with her loving family at her side.

Born in Albany, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Henrietta (Noonan) Phelps. She graduated from St. Patrick's School and Vincentian Institute and received her bachelor's degree from St. Rose in Albany She married her late husband on June 14, 1947. She was a School Teacher at St. John's Academy in Rensselaer and later by the Rensselaer City School District where she worked for many years until retiring in 1983. Henrietta was the former president of St. Mary's P.T.A. in Rensselaer. She was a charter member of Cordial Greens Country Club in East Greenbush. She enjoyed playing bridge and canasta in several clubs with her friends. Henrietta loved traveling especially with her husband and spent three weeks with him in Europe for their 25th wedding anniversary. Her biggest joy in her life was her loving family and seeing her grandchildren grow.

Survivors include her loving children Stephen C. (Christine) Chesley of East Greenbush, Paul R. (Barbara) Chesley of Kinderhook, and Anne E. (John) Haertel of Latham, her cherished grandchildren, Cara Chesley, Stephen Chesley, Elisabeth (Michael) Blair, Katherine (Jonathan) Herrick, Meghan Chesley, Christopher Haertel, Patrick Haertel, Allison Haertel, her great-grandchildren Mehren Blair and Holden Blair, she is also survived by her best friend Dorothy Thomas.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday June 14, at 10:00 am in Christ Our Light Catholic Church, 1 Maria Drive, Loudonville with Rev. David Noone, officiating.

Relatives and friends are invited and may call Sunday from 2-5 p.m. at the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Road, Latham.

She will be laid to rest next to her husband in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.
